About “All American” on The CW

Inspired by the life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger with Daniel Ezra in the lead role, this drama follows the story of a rising high school American football player from South L.A. who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. The wins, losses, and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds begin to collide while he also struggles to find his footing as the new team is threatened by his arrival. In just a short period of time, from his days as the breakout player at South Crenshaw High to becoming state champion with Beverly Hills High, his family life, personal relationships, and athletic future all changed and grew in ways he never imagined, but after the rough year that followed that victory, Spencer made the tough decision to return to South Crenshaw High for his senior year with Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) by his side as the new head coach, with his eyes set on the All American game and his future with the NFL.
