Warming up the spring season with a tropical fusion of rhythms is Tipa Tipo’s release of their first LP, ‘Cintas’. The nine-track album captivates listeners with its unique flair of Latin yacht rock, with heavy influences from the 70s disco era, soft rock and cumbia. While tackling different themes from romance to politics, the album is threaded together by its bright and groove-based tracks. Fitting for the album name “Cintas”, which means “ribbons” in Spanish but also refers to reel-to-reel tape used to record parts of the album.
