Following recent placements with Shady Oaks, The Thing With Feathers, and Steve Lewis, we’re pleased to announce another one for “Shake It” by Robert Connely Farr in episode 406 of the SYFY comedy-drama series Resident Alien.
Robert Connely Farr
Originally from Bolton, Mississippi, and now based in Vancouver, Robert Connely Farr is a singer-songwriter deeply rooted in the unique Bentonia blues style. He’s been mentored by Mississippi blues legend Jimmy “Duck” Holmes since 2017, and his music, including his album “Dirty South Blues,” has garnered critical acclaim and has been featured in various films and television shows. With his first-ever placement with Bodega Sync, his song “Shake It” will be featured in episode 406, premiering on July 11th.
Steve Lewis
Steve Lewis is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends rock, country, gospel, and pop influences into a timeless yet modern sound. Offstage, he plays a key role in the music industry as Senior Director of UGC & Video at Symphonic Distribution. His track “I Was Moved” will be featured on episode 405, premiering on July 4th. This is Steve’s second placement with Bodega Sync, following a recent placement on NBC’s The Hunting Party.
The Thing With Feathers
Also based in Nashville and celebrating their first placement with Bodega Sync, The Thing With Feathers is an alt-rock/indie-pop trio blending slick guitar work, anthemic hooks, and confessional lyrics. With a sound that’s both infectious and introspective, they bring a fresh edge to the modern rock landscape. Their song “Golden” will also be featured on episode 405.
Shady Oaks
Shady Oaks is a six-piece blues‑rock outfit hailing from Denver, fronted by guitarist–vocalist Ty Gallaway. Their riff‑heavy sound blends dreamy psychedelic textures with rugged energy, drawing influence from modern acts like The Black Keys, Jack White and The Raconteurs. Their tracks “Drinkin’ You Away” and “Best Thing” will be featured on episodes 402 and 403, premiering on June 13th and 20th, respectively.
Resident Alien on SYFY
Inspired by the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger, it follows a rising high school football star from South Los Angeles, as he is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, and delves into the cultural and socio-economic challenges he faces while balancing life between two contrasting worlds. This season, the show shifts its focus back to high school football with new lead character KJ, a promising young quarterback, and his tough but inspiring father, Coach Cassius Jeremy.
