DM Arthur’s new single “Sun Is Gone” is a stripped-down yet cinematic reflection on the fleeting nature of hope. Written after a rough night shift and inspired by a brief moment of sunlight breaking through a window, the song moves between light and shadow, both sonically and emotionally. Co-written by Starsailor frontman James Walsh, it pairs raw lyrics with a tonal arc resembling a slow sunrise, hinting at renewal and the passing of darker days. Originally from Glasgow, DM Arthur taught himself guitar as a teenager, drawing influence from artists like Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and Bob Dylan.
