Musician, songwriter, and producer Meg Toohey returns with her emotional new single “Lucky Streak”, written in response to the tragic news that her friend Nick Cordero had passed away from COVID-19. Within an hour of sitting down with her guitar she had a full demo together that she sent over to her fellow bandmates from the musical Waitress. Meg thought if they all recorded it together it would be a beautiful way to send their love to Nick’s wife Amanda. Of course everyone was on board, including her longtime friend Sara Bareilles, whose gorgeous harmonies elevated the emotional weight of the tribute. The single will officially be released a week from today on October 13th. Meg Toohey got her start in the Boston music scene, writing and performing alongside artists like Lori McKenna and Josh Ritter. While living in L.A. she worked as a touring musician, playing with the indie […]

Brooklyn-based artist Reed Kackley, best known under his moniker BAILE, brings forth a deep dive into the hard-hitting world of electronic music with his brand new EP entitled “Forth”. The record is a melancholy mixture of boomy analog synths, lush vocals and organic instrumentation set to driving, percussive dance beats. Inspired by house, downtempo and experimental music, Kackley’s elegantly layered compositions blend together foley recordings with warm analog synthesizers and lush vocal performances from artists like Felicia Douglass (Dirty Projectors, Ava Luna) and K. Marie Kim (Mitski). In addition to his original work, BAILE has prolifically collaborated on some epic remixes with artists such as Sasha, Beacon, DRAMA, Tim Green and boerd. He’s also one half of the duo Haulm, who we’re also fortunate to rep one-stop for sync. His music has frequently received airplay from KCRW, Pete Tong & Danny Howard (BBC Radio 1), and been written up in […]

The new sophmore EP by Los Angeles locals No Suits, unsubtly titled “Sex”, is a distinct contrast to their debut EP “Virgin”. Marking a sort of end to their sonic puberty, their evolution from downtempo indie soul pop to confident and punchy funk-hop took form in the making of the new EP throughout the last year. The band’s unique sound comes from a tasteful blending of an indie psych-rock vibe a la Tame Impala with throwback elements from classic hip hop, soul, rock, funk and jazz. The result is music with a pervasive smooth swagger to it, which is likely the key to much of their recent sync success. The lead single off the record “Sue” has achieved over 2.6 million plays on Spotify and was featured in a segment with Brad Pitt for NFL on Fox. Their 2019 single “Clothes Off” has been in spots for MINI Cooper and […]

Summer adventures, childhood nostalgia, the sweet memories that take us back…that’s the vibe of producer/DJ duo Cashae’s new single “This Moment”. The newly dropped music video for the track is a perfect visual representation of never wanting this moment to end. Cashae’s self-coined “Trapical” sound is a unique blend of Pop EDM, Trap, and Latin Caribbean influences. This refreshing, global sound earned them over 5 million independent streams in 2019, features on Spotify’s New Music Friday and radio play in 79 countries from the U.S to France to Denmark, Nigeria, and Hong Kong. They’ve also landed sync features on MTV and HBO and Les Mills exercise programs. Most recently, they have worked on tracks for artists like Mau y Ricky, Selena Gomez, Bad Bunny, Halsey, Kat Dahlia, Johann Vera, and more.

It’s pretty likely you’ve never heard of Jackson Boone. He lives a fairly low key life managing a vegan juice bar tucked away all the way up in the top left corner of the country, while also quietly making stunningly gorgeous records. The song we’re highlighting today is the title track to Jackson’s album “Natural Changes”, a timeless psych-folk ballad with lush strings that is tailor-made for a bittersweet cinematic montage. Recorded at Cannon Beach along the Oregon coast with producer Riley Geare of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, “Natural Changes” is rich with vivid imagery of the Pacific coastal setting where it was conceived. Despite touching on heavy subject matter like death and passing into the unknown, the song remains light and dreamy with that small touch of levity Jackson often weaves into his songwriting. The string arrangement throughout is subtle and understated, elevating what would otherwise be a somewhat somber […]

Sydney-born R&B artist TIAAN has captivated audiences around the world with her raw, sexy and slightly left of center style. Heavily influenced by her idols Sade and Janet Jackson, she has stayed true to a sound that instantly resonates with her audience. Following the success and acclaim of her 2014 self titled EP which earned her over 11 million Spotify streams, TIAAN suffered through the all too familiar struggle of being trapped in a bad record deal. Blocked from releasing new artist material, TIAAN instead began focusing on her songwriting, working on singles for artists like Charli XCX, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea. Currently based in LA and now managed by Sarah McCann at B|O|O, 2019 saw the return of TIAAN with three incredible singles. Her comeback single “Ruin It” was released accompanied by a stunning music video shot on location at the site of the Woolsey fire. TIAAN is […]

Over the course of his career, LA producer/writer Sam Smyers has racked up hundreds of millions of streams across multiple genres by collaborating within a community of impeccably talented topliners and artists. Sam’s music has been licensed by Samsung and GoPro and he has multiple upcoming placements in productions that we’re told are going to be released…well, eventually. Starting as a session player in LA, Sam got his start laying down guitar for artists like 50 Cent to Lupe Fiasco. His role soon evolved when he found himself producing Hayley Kiyoko, helping her navigate the music industry at the beginning of her career. Sam has repeated this pattern through his own career, serving both as both collaborator and mentor to a burgeoning community of up-and-coming artists. Sam’s notable recent works include “Nobody Listening” featuring Lizzy Land who recently sang on Alesso’s “In The Middle” and Paul Oakenford’s “Waterfall”, “So Consumed” […]

Evolving from his indie-rock project Boy Rex, Northern Michigan based singer-songwriter Jack M. Senff strikes a warm and sentimental tone on Good To Know You that pays homage to the folk Americana sounds of the early 1970’s. Opting for a more stripped down aesthetic reflective of his own personal listening preferences over the constant second-guessing of what he thought should be making for his audience, Jack M. Senff had but one criteria for songs for this album: “Do I like it? Good.” “Just being Jack now feels like a needed breath of air, or like the rest of my life has opened up before me and I can go anywhere, do anything, write whatever music I want so long as it’s true to me.” – Jack M. Senff The result is a gorgeous and intimate record, with just the right balance of production, tasteful lead guitar work and natural room […]
