Indie Folk trio JEMS takes listeners on an introspective journey with their new single “Bury It” from their upcoming sophomore album “Back Around”. The song deals with self-reflection and the consequences of bottling up one’s own emotions. No matter how hard we try to hide or forget about certain feelings, they always tend to find their way to the surface one way or another. The song’s dynamic structure echoes the theme, starting off quiet and unassuming and then hitting you like a tsunami with a powerful, anthemic chorus. Based in Los Angeles, this trio is composed of the three complementary vocalists Jessica Rotter, Emily Colombier and Sarah Margaret Huff. Since their start in the summer of 2017, JEMS have built a notable following from the success of their debut album and mesmerizing live shows. Inspired by a butterfly observed on a trip to Costa Rica, Katmaz wrote the stripped down and intimate song “Blue Morpho”. Known for being unattainable by predators due to its unique flying patterns after being intoxicated with rotten fruit, the blue morpho lives in a state of unpredictability. Although content spending their life alone, the butterfly embarks on a life-long journey to find its mate. The song paints a metaphor with the animal’s erratic behavior and the elusive nature of a former lover. In 2020, native New Yorker and singer-songwriter Matt Kazmierczak embarked on a life-changing journey of self-exploration that took him to twenty national parks across the US. Originally from Poland and now based in Boca Raton, this talented young singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer started singing at the age of 12 and continued to hone her chops throughout her teenage years.
