Nizzy – “Thinking”

As Afrobeats continue to heat up the airways worldwide, Nizzy’s seductive new single “Thinking” is adding to the fire. Set to a laid back and percussive mid-tempo beat, Nizzy’s emotional vocal is complemented by a saxophone accompaniment awash in luscious reverb. Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Necy Rasaki, better known by his phonetic moniker Nizzy, has been making a name for himself in the burgeoning London Afrobeats scene. Inspired by the “Father of Afrobeat” himself, Fela Kuti as well as other musical styles like R&B, blues, hip hop, and dancehall, Nizzy started honing his craft at the age of fourteen. With a growing catalog of killer singles as well as collaborations with established artists like BNXN and L.A.X., the best is yet to come for this future Afrobeats star!

No Suits – “Tall Man”

Known for their effortless swag, the latest single by L.A. trio No Suits takes on a different feel with a laid back house beat. Drawing inspiration from artists like Jamiroquai & Toro Y Moi, “Tall Man” features punchy horns, an immaculately funky drum beat and frontman Max Carstens-Pierro’s signature laid back flow. Since forming in 2016, No Suits have steadily developed their diverse sound through experimentation and collaboration with fellow up-and-comers Kota the Friend, DLG., Abhi The Nomad and Danny Dwyer. Striking a delicate balance between unadulterated confidence and cheeky self-depreciation, the band often adopts a sexy swagger while never taking themselves too seriously. No Suits is also a big favorite in the sync community with placements on Grand Crew, 4400, FBoy Island and spots with major brands like Mini Cooper and Gold Bond. Check out the video for “Tall Man”:

DLG. – ‘MARCH’

It seemed only appropriate that for SXSW week we feature an Austin native. DLG.’s new EP, ‘MARCH’ reaches new heights while staying true to his signature laid back, soulful DIY sound. The first installment of his new “2 on 2” series where he will regularly drop 2 songs on the 2nd of the month, this release gets inspiration from artists like MGMT & Dayglow and is noticeably more uptempo than his past releases. “CLOSE ONE!”, which landed a Spotify editorial playlist spot on The New Alt, has more of a laid back summer feel, while “DROWN IN YOU” is more driving with wispy falsetto vocals a la Tame Impala. Norman Alexander – “For Me”

We’re excited to announce two placements by Y2 in season 2 of MTV’s reality series Help! I’m In A Secret Relationship! hosted by Travis Mills and Rahne Jones.
