Moving on from the 60’s style Psych-Pop of their last few singles, in their newest single “Hiding From” the mysterious duo King Complex leans into a dreamy 80’s inspired synth driven sound a-la Tame Impala and Empire Of The Sun. In their own words:
I think it speaks to both our personalities heavily, in terms of wanting to withdraw from the world in some ways, while also being heavily emotionally tied to others.
This masked Florida duo gained significant success from their single, “Dark Disco” which garnered over a million streams on Spotify. Always changing up their sound but exploring retro vibes from the past, this band’s ambiguous style continues to evolve.
