The Something Specials have done it again with their brand new single, “Coop”. The song feels like the soundtrack to one of those off-kilter days when everything’s a little gray but small flickers of optimism still break through. It’s a laid back earworm, and a fitting lead single for their EP dropping early next year. Three worlds collided to form The Something Specials. The band took root when Vansire frontman Josh Augustin and guitarist Nathan Slone dreamed up a 70s-inspired project back when they attended Oberlin. Cutting instrumental beds in their Brooklyn studio, everything snapped into place when Augustin met Taylor Olin on a Malibu video shoot. Her angelic, sepia toned voice completed the vision, and “Coop” is proof they’ve once again hit on something special!
