In diet lemon’s latest single, “natural”, he rhetorically wonders why he always runs away when things get complicated. This driving indie rock track incorporates diffuse chattering voices, swirling synths, piercing guitar riffs and reverberated toy bells to create an other worldly texture throughout. The song is the battle between past trauma and new beginnings. You find yourself falling into something new and beautiful, but now you must actively challenge the negative memories associated with misplacing your trust before. “natural” is upbeat and exciting on the surface, much like a budding relationship – but the lyrics undertone a deep-rooted anxiety. Courtesy of the label Elton Audio, diet lemon is the self-produced solo project of Mega Mango’s guitarist Alexander Spagnolia. Alexander has perfected his blend of indie rock, pop, and bedroom rock while exploring the genre of “Phruitcore” with his debut single “lime”. However, it was his breakout single “melt” that heavily […]

The Ivy’s latest single, “Street Dogs” is an homage to the stray dogs they encountered on a trip to Mexico. They do what they want, but nobody bothers them as they play their role in society. Lyrically, the concept of the “bad boy” character with confidence and swagger was inspired by the four-legged creatures. This track gets its production shine from Grammy winning LA duo SameSame (Portugal The Man, Cage The Elephant), who co-produced and co-wrote this song. Tusla-based duo The Ivy developed their sound by fusing indie rock with R&B, Pop, and a touch of pop punk sensibility. After receiving 25 million combined streams on Spotify with their viral singles “Gold” & “Have You Ever Been in Love”, the duo is set to deliver their debut full-length album ‘A Door Still Open’ this year.

When it’s good it’s great, but we all know that the highs never last. The new single “I’ve Been Here Before” by Goodvibes Sound explores this back-and-forth that we all experience throughout life. While the lyrics discuss feelings of isolation and loneliness, the contrast between mellow verses and catchy high energy choruses evokes this repetitive cycle. London-based duo Goodvibes Sound draws their inspiration from the sounds of 1970’s West Coast psych-pop and disco. This release is the first in a series of singles which will culminate in their forthcoming album entitled “Sunset City”.

Sometimes the saying, “everything happens for a reason” helps us justify the confusion that we all experience in life. In Certainly So’s latest single, “Lucid”, the band explores this introspective concept. Driven by Tanner Gray’s bittersweet vocals and a gorgeous string arrangement, the song slowly builds in an acoustic 6/8 feel reminiscent of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” until it hits the final third where it explodes into a driving rock finale. Hailing from Birmingham and Nashville, this self described “post-angst” band was formed in 2010 by the joining of longtime friends who have been collectively refining their classic inspired indie rock sound for the past decade.

EMM’s latest single, “Kool Aid” encourages listeners to let go of all inhibitions, knock back whatever helps ease the pain and dance the night away. The energetic synth pop track features EMM’s signature powerhouse vocals over a bouncy 80’s retro beat and pulsating synths. This uptempo party driven track is a decidedly different musical direction for EMM, who typically writes darker epic Alt. Pop anthems. Ever constant is her attention to detail when it comes to syncability, something she does masterfully across her whole catalog.
