Back with a brand new single “Fuego”, Bronx native YONAS brings back the 🔥 once again. For the past decade YONAS has been consistently putting out some of the best underground hip hop records you’ll find anywhere. During that time he’s racked up over half a billion combined streams and sales (man, remember when people used to actually buy records?), put out collabs with artists like Logic and Cherub, and shared the stage with Macklemore, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q.

Standing on the shoulders of thought leaders like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Big L, Immortal Technique, Common, and Lauryn Hill, YONAS aims to challenge the mind while still bringing good vibes. His music is thought provoking, highly polished and straight up hooky as hell. These attributes are sadly in short supply these days.

“It’s crazy because the song is almost written in parts like a piece of classical music. The sung parts are about the relationship with the mother of my daughter. The rap verses are about me making my return to music after a year long break, and how I have the fire more than ever and am more than ready to make a splash. And then the hook ties it all in. The burning desire in love is synonymous with the burning desire to make a name for yourself in the music world. It also gave me a chance to pay homage to the late great Kobe Bryant who along with MJ are my two inspirations for how I approach anything I want to achieve.”

Without a doubt YONAS’s music is tailor made for sync, striking a delicate balance between mainstream and underground hip hop while maintaining a positive vibe, pop sensibility and unquestionable authenticity.
