Blues rockers Holy Roller Baby have crafted an album that embodies rock ‘n’ roll obsession. ‘Smile Like Heaven’ is a sonic journey through Jared Mullins’ imagination and from the first riff to the final note. This ten-track album dives into dark and eerie lyrical themes with religious undertones. Produced by Brit rock producer Ian Davenport (Radiohead, Band Of Skulls, Supergrass, Badly Drawn Boy), the band created an album that challenges, surprises and ultimately leaves you wanting more.
A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter, Jared Mullins got the inspiration for the band’s name from the Pentecostals in the early 20th century who were known for rolling around on the floor as religious fanatics. Hoping to create a similar craze for his music, Jared assumed the name and tacked on “Baby” to lighten things up and represent the soul within their sound. Fans of classic riff-driven hard rock bands like Sabbath and Led Zeppelin will surely have sore necks after hearing this record!
