In Certainly So’s latest single “Patience”, the band explores the tumultuous ups and downs of a toxic relationship. Throughout the song there’s a sweet melody that carries listeners into a building crescendo filled with drums, guitar, soaring strings and swirling vocals. By the end it reaches an emotionally chaotic peak, while still remaining vulnerable. This song is the band’s first single of the year, the first of many leading up to the release of their new full length album later this Fall. Certainly So is an indie-rock quartet based in Nashville and made up of four long-time friends. Still fairly new to the industry as a band, they released their first full-length album in 2021 and haven’t looked back. Their music is exceptionally well written and produced, and of course very sync-friendly. We highly recommend you give them a listen!

Driven by Tanner Gray’s bittersweet vocals and a gorgeous string arrangement, the song slowly builds in an acoustic 6/8 feel reminiscent of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” until it hits the final third where it explodes into a driving rock finale. Hailing from Birmingham and Nashville, this self described “post-angst” band was formed in 2010 by the joining of longtime friends who have been collectively refining their classic inspired indie rock sound for the past decade.
