The latest single by REYKO, “Dancing On My Own” strikes a unique balance with its dreamy, spooky and rhythmic vibes. Known for their ethereal and eclectic soundscapes, this track holds true to their signature sound with a soothing wave of nostalgic New Wave synths and lush beats. With a good bit of anxious energy, the lyrics speak to the liberation of letting loose on the dance floor as a way to escape the pressures of modern life. Originally from Spain and now based in London, this duo has three LPs under their belt and have developed their unique sound through creative experimentation in English and Spanish. Their song “Spinning Over You” was featured in a major ad campaign for the Spanish department store El Corte Inglés, which then became a charting radio hit in Spain with 32 million streams on Spotify. They’ve also had several placements in Spanish-language Netflix “Elite”, […]

The new single “Reflections” by the L.A. Alt-Pop band Ships Have Sailed is a profound exploration of human existence, purpose and resilience. This track delves deep into the essence of what it means to be human, contemplating how we navigate our paths, find strength in adversity and mirror each other when we establish genuine connections. The song draws inspiration from songwriter Will Carpenter’s childhood experiences: I remember wishing for more as a child growing up in poverty – constantly anxious and wondering whether life would ever get better. The most peaceful moments I can remember from this time were camping trips with my friends where we would literally climb up a mountain and lay on our backs under the stars, feeling a sense of kinship and purpose as we shared our hopes and dreams. I’ve been able to create a better life for myself, chase my dreams, build a home […]

For most newcomers, LA can be a magical place full of sunshine, parties and where dreams can flourish. Joey Myron’s latest single “Love, LA” is a love letter to the city that delves into the duality of its immense beauty as well as the superficial culture and toxicity that lives just underneath the surface. It’s a nuanced portrayal that speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever dared to dream, to love, and to find their own truth amidst the chaos of expectations and aspirations. Pretty catchy hook too! Now based in Nashville, Joey Myron spent some time living in LA after college working with local writer/producers like Mickey Valen with whom he wrote the track “Chills”. That song has since garnered well over 60 million streams on Spotify alone. Influenced by legendary artists as diverse as Johnny Cash, Nina Simone, The Weekend and Post Malone, Myron has developed […]

Unrequited love is one of the harsh realities we’ve probably all faced at one point or another. Runrummer’s latest single, “Not Quite Over You” takes a deep dive into the truth about heartbreak and emotions when you can’t quite figure out why you’re not the apple of someone’s eye. Although the production behind the upbeat electro-pop track is groove-worthy, the lyrics tell a different story. Drawing inspiration from artists like Fleetwood Mac, Phoebe Bridges and Shura, Runrummer has developed a vibrant and eclectic sound. Released this past Friday, “Not Quite Over You” appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and has been receiving great press coverage and airplay in the US and UK. Inspired by the famous Rum Runner Nightclub in the 70s and 80s which launched the careers of Duran Duran and Dexys Midnight Runners, East London-based singer-songwriter and producer Livi Morris took on the inverted moniker Runrummer. Starting […]

Growing pains. We all experience them and in Madisyn Gifford’s latest project, ’Sleeping On The Ceiling’ she dives deep into her experience and bares all emotion. The twelve-track indie-pop record is full of vulnerability and introspection as Madisyn tackles topics like mental health but also serves as a love letter to her female friendships. It tells the story of growing up and out of some of the darkest places I’ve ever been in with the“slow and steady wins the race” mentality I had while living through it. It’s about grieving the experiences that my younger self had to go through in relationships and navigating how to move on into new ones while doing that. Vancouver native Madisyn Gifford has quickly grown her following just over the past two years after releasing her debut EP, ‘Learning To Exist’ on 604 Records. The indie-folk singer-songwriter has garnered millions of plays and praise […]

If you’re hiding out indoors to escape the brutal summer heat, Päter’s latest single “Four Walls” will keep you company. Tacked piano, wacky background vocals and a strong driving beat a la Arcade Fire gives this song all the energy you need to keep yourself bouncing around your air conditioned bedroom. My reference for this track was the part in Willy Wonka where all the creepy dolls do a song and dance and then blow up. It’s about this age of bedroom content making that’s dressed up with so much promise but can in fact become quite isolating and maddening. Packaged in high octane indie rock delight. Who would have thought a music career could begin from the sale of a childhood puppy? After being forced to sell their family dog after the birth of a sibling, Päter traded in a pet for a guitar. Over the years and through […]

Just in time for the summer, Fionn returns with their latest album ‘I Might Start Smoking’. Inspired by the unpredictable transition into adulthood and quoted as their “second coming of age”, the twin sister duo delivers a super catchy indie-pop record in the vein of artists like Haim, boygenius and MUNA. The Celtic-Canadian duo first came onto the music scene in 2018 with their self-titled debut album and began building an incredible catalog with the label 604 Records. Known for their catchy hooks and creative songwriting abilities, the sisters have refined their craft and never fail to deliver a well-polished sound. This time around they’ve opted to try and weave their Celtic accents into the music in a subtle, yet tasteful way. We dig it.

Moving on from the 60’s style Psych-Pop of their last few singles, in their newest single “Hiding From” the mysterious duo King Complex leans into a dreamy 80’s inspired synth driven sound a-la Tame Impala and Empire Of The Sun. In their own words: I think it speaks to both our personalities heavily, in terms of wanting to withdraw from the world in some ways, while also being heavily emotionally tied to others. This masked Florida duo gained significant success from their single, “Dark Disco” which garnered over a million streams on Spotify. Always changing up their sound but exploring retro vibes from the past, this band’s ambiguous style continues to evolve. Although you might have no idea what they look like, you’ll never forget their sound!

Known for their effortless swag, the latest single by L.A. trio No Suits takes on a different feel with a laid back house beat. Drawing inspiration from artists like Jamiroquai & Toro Y Moi, “Tall Man” features punchy horns, an immaculately funky drum beat and frontman Max Carstens-Pierro’s signature laid back flow. Since forming in 2016, No Suits have steadily developed their diverse sound through experimentation and collaboration with fellow up-and-comers Kota the Friend, DLG., Abhi The Nomad and Danny Dwyer. Striking a delicate balance between unadulterated confidence and cheeky self-depreciation, the band often adopts a sexy swagger while never taking themselves too seriously.
