Breakups are always tough, but moving on can be even more difficult. In Lola Violet’s latest single, “happy 4 u” she dives into the complexities of dealing with exes and the reality of a heartbreak. The dark electro pop track is supported with a pulsating bass line and makes listeners feel as if they’re stuck in a trance. Coupled with honest and raw lyrics, Lola Violet holds nothing back as she deals with the emotional complexities of a breakup. I wanted the song to really get those post-breakup feelings across—each note is like a piece of my own story. […] When I wrote ‘happy 4 u,’ I was digging into that messy post-breakup stuff, trying to turn it into a song that everyone could feel in their own way. Lola Ficks-Chen, better known as Lola Violet is a Los Angeles based indie pop artist and a one woman team. Known […]

The new single “Too Much To Lose” by PRXZM takes a deep dive into the complexities of love and the human experience. Blending pop sensibility with emotion-driven lyrics, this nostalgic song explores personal reflection and heartbreak. This is the first single from their upcoming album due out next year. Nick Ortega and Emma Maidenberg have been making music together for the past five years after originally meeting at Indiana University. They quickly developed their signature 80’s influenced syncope sound and a loyal fanbase with their indie pop duo PRXZM (pronounced “Prism”). The band is very active on Twitch hosting live writing sessions for their fans and have had their song “Where We Started” featured in the XBox racing game Forza Horizon 5.

In her latest single “LOZER (feat. A Z)”, EMM delivers a powerful performance and creative fusion of Pop and Phonk. Full of dynamic elements, EMM worked with producer Jason Mater to create a track that highlights the underground genre which connects gaming, comics, and electronic music. Lyrically, I wrote LOZER (With A Z) about losing fear of what others think. I’ve never really fit in and I’ve had to learn to accept and celebrate myself as I am. The song is funny and lighthearted (“I heard she used to sniff sharpies”) and self deprecating (“I’m such a fucking loser”), but also recognizing the empowerment and freedom in self acceptance (“I love the way I am cause I’m a God damn star). A multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and four-octave vocalist, EMM isn’t your traditional LA pop singer. She’s unapologetic, fierce and thrives as a self-made independent artist. With over 100 million streams […]

At some point in our lives, we’ve all felt that notion of being lost, forgotten, or not necessarily conscious of our place or purpose in life. In “Obliviamos”, the latest single by the alt-rock band Roseburg, they focus on this very concept with a compassionate message. This emotionally charged track pulls at the heart strings and draws the listener in with an anthemic chorus. What else could you ask for? They thought we fell into oblivionDidn’t we sayThat we know we’re gonna find our way (our way)Don’t you know we’re gonna find our way (our way) The formation of the Utah-based quartet is an interesting story as Zach Knell and Samuel Sheppard met as Mormon missionaries in the town of Roseburg and communicated via handwritten notes with hopes of starting a band. They began working on their debut album when they met fellow missionary Keith Lambson and finally in 2019, […]

Raw, introspective and fueled by feminine rage, Sam Casey’s latest EP, ‘More Songs About Weed and Toxic Relationships’ is an unfiltered and unapologetic response to the question, who is Sam Casey? Inspired by the good and bad aspects of love that filled the past two years of her life, Sam gives an honest look at the effect certain relationships had on her. There are no secret messages on the EP, no hidden meaning. It says what it means and it means what it says. And so do I. One of my biggest strengths is my affinity for everything real. This is the third EP from the Toronto-based singer-songwriter, who from a very young age has established her boss-girl mentality. Her songwriting originally started out as journal entries and later sparked the beginning of her music career. Rooted in personal experiences of toxic relationships and struggles with mental illness, Casey bears […]

Claire Guerreso’s new single “The Let Down” is anything but. Haunting as always, this song is heavier than Claire’s usual sound yet still somehow manages to come off dreamy and emotional. The track opens with a deep cacophony of distorted noise, quickly underpinned by a chunky beat and the jarring clang of electric guitar chords. Claire’s lyrics are introspective and melancholy, but maintains a raw edge thanks to the massive production chops of her producer/co-writer Suede James. I wrote The Let Down about the feeling you get when something ends. It’s not a bad thing, just a transitional feeling. The Let Down is the other side of anticipation. This song’s driving beat will stay with you through the highs and lows. A darling of the music supervision community for over a decade, Claire Guerreso is among the most successful artists in sync. Her music has touched countless millions, having been […]

There’s no denying a love that’s right, but sometimes it’s just not and you need to let go. Cheska Cruz’s new single “Right For Me” is filled with a quiet confidence making a statement that cuts straight to the point: If you ain’t right for me / Then I don’t mind being alone. This one is a vibey slow burner, starting out with an earnest, sparse piano arrangement and building up to a full rhythm section with layer upon layer of gorgeously stacked vocals. It all culminates in a pitched down ending, leaving us with a pointedly dark moment. The Toronto based singer-songwriter shifts from her signature sound to a more traditional style of R&B on this record. This song specifically holds a significant meaning for Cheska as it also signifies the shift she made in her life to branch out and pursue a music career full-time. She’s just getting […]

Sometimes even with the best intentions we all make empty promises. That’s the theme of Cecilia Gault’s latest single “Pinky Promise”, an energetic Hyperpop banger featuring her signature sultry vocals. In Cecilia’s own words: I wrote the lyrics promising to never break my lover’s heart, but through the lyrics I share how most promises to lovers are not kept: “No fingers crossed, boy, I won’t lie… it won’t happen twice”. I wanted to embody an innocent sounding seductress that goes around breaking boys’ hearts, which in real life is something I strive to be. A Manhattan native born to Japanese and Irish parents, Cecilia Gault was influenced by cultural traditions and developed a passionate drive for success at a young age. She celebrates her heritage by featuring both English and Japanese lyrics in her music. Cecilia’s song “Lunatic” was recently featured in season 2 of HBO Max’s ‘FBoy Island’, the […]
