Los Angeles-based artist/producer K. Roosevelt hits us with “The Voodoo” on the lead single from his upcoming full-length album “Day Glow”. Reminiscent of modern jazz-adjacent R&B artists like Thundercat, Kamasi Washington and Anderson .Paak, the track features K’s signature sparse, soulful vocals nestled perfectly between a laid-back beat and mellow slap-bassline. The son of acclaimed blues artists Keb’ Mo, it’s no wonder K. Roosevelt is one Cool M.F. First cutting his teeth as a drummer and then moving on to guitar, piano, vocals and beat production, K has evolved from an instrumentalist into a multifaceted artist, writer and producer. His first break as an artist came in 2012 with a feature on The Game’s “Can’t Get Right”, followed by a string of successful collabs with Jhené Aiko, Hit-Boy, Rapsody and Mahalia. K continued writing, producing and featuring on records up until 2018 when he released his eponymous debut EP on […]

In a powerful tribute to her grandmother’s resilient spirit, Pop/R&B songstress Alyxx Dione’s new single “WILDFLOWER” is an inspirational self-empowerment anthem. “My grandmother was someone who truly marched to the beat of her own drum. After being disowned by her family for dating outside her race, she began to embrace everyone who didn’t look like her and began to create a community around her that she called family. She never took no for an answer, and was extremely strong-willed to get what she wanted and I believe that is why my grandmother called herself “wildflower”. A wildflower is someone who is resilient, can grow in any situation, and lives life on their terms! I wrote “WILDFLOWER” as a reminder for myself and for all those who has ever felt different, out of place, misunderstood or unappreciated to continue to bloom! It is our birthright.” Alyxx Dione got her start with […]

We’re often asked what kinds of songs are in high demand and low supply for sync, and one of them is “sexy but not sexual”. It’s a tricky balance, but you know it when you hear it. Chi-town native Johari Noelle absolutely nails this vibe with “Get Free”. In the opening minute of the song her soft and sultry voice sits atop a subtle dancehall rhythm, then out of nowhere a smooth drum fill launches us into a Badu-esque neo-soul groove. Johari wrote this song to try to bring ease and joy to herself and others, just like that old adage you can’t love anyone until you first learn to love yourself. “My music is about getting out how I feel and being very present in that moment. It’s important for me to embrace myself in a way that empowers me to feel each emotion and remain in touch with […]

Back with a brand new single “Fuego”, Bronx native YONAS brings back the 🔥 once again. For the past decade YONAS has been consistently putting out some of the best underground hip hop records you’ll find anywhere. During that time he’s racked up over half a billion combined streams and sales (man, remember when people used to actually buy records?), put out collabs with artists like Logic and Cherub, and shared the stage with Macklemore, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q. Standing on the shoulders of thought leaders like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Big L, Immortal Technique, Common, and Lauryn Hill, YONAS aims to challenge the mind while still bringing good vibes. His music is thought provoking, highly polished and straight up hooky as hell. These attributes are sadly in short supply these days. “It’s crazy because the song is almost written in parts like a piece of classical music. The […]

As covered in a recent LA Times feature, Chris Mann is an impressively multifaceted talent. You might remember him from his stint on “The Voice”, or perhaps his starring role in Phantom Of The Opera, or most recently from his viral parody videos which entertained millions worldwide. But none of that holds a candle to Chris’s amazing new Pop/R&B record “Noise”. “I was inspired to create a new sound for “Noise” that really encompasses what I love most about pop music— classic, hooky melodies, urban beats, vintage horns, and honest lyrics that speak to where I am right now in life, love, and the times.” Working with a cadre of incredible talent including Ca$h Clay Beats, India.Arie, Ian Barter, Willy Beaman and Thomas Daniel, this album blends a healthy dose of 90’s throwback R&B a la Justin Timberlake with a ton of other influences pulled from Mann’s diverse musical experiences. The new sophmore EP by Los Angeles locals No Suits, unsubtly titled “Sex”, is a distinct contrast to their debut EP “Virgin”. Marking a sort of end to their sonic puberty, their evolution from downtempo indie soul pop to confident and punchy funk-hop took form in the making of the new EP throughout the last year. The band’s unique sound comes from a tasteful blending of an indie psych-rock vibe a la Tame Impala with throwback elements from classic hip hop, soul, rock, funk and jazz. The result is music with a pervasive smooth swagger to it, which is likely the key to much of their recent sync success. The lead single off the record “Sue” has achieved over 2.6 million plays on Spotify and was featured in a segment with Brad Pitt for NFL on Fox. Their 2019 single “Clothes Off” has been in spots for MINI Cooper and […]

Sydney-born R&B artist TIAAN has captivated audiences around the world with her raw, sexy and slightly left of center style. Heavily influenced by her idols Sade and Janet Jackson, she has stayed true to a sound that instantly resonates with her audience. Following the success and acclaim of her 2014 self titled EP which earned her over 11 million Spotify streams, TIAAN suffered through the all too familiar struggle of being trapped in a bad record deal. Blocked from releasing new artist material, TIAAN instead began focusing on her songwriting, working on singles for artists like Charli XCX, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea. Currently based in LA and now managed by Sarah McCann at B|O|O, 2019 saw the return of TIAAN with three incredible singles. Her comeback single “Ruin It” was released accompanied by a stunning music video shot on location at the site of the Woolsey fire. TIAAN is […]

Amanda Ibanez, better known as Kiddo A.I., was raised in a family of gifted musicians and was completely aware of her destiny from a young age. Not just a talented singer and topliner, she’s also a multi-instrumentalist and a fluent Spanish speaker. She’s what you might call fuego femenino. The first few years of Kiddo’s career saw a string of successful collaborations in different genres. Following her first vocal feature with rapper Bernz, she caught the ear of his label’s co-founder Tech N9ne who pulled her in to collaborate on his track “Til I’m Gone”. She then went on to work with popular DJ duo SMLE, racking up a collective 10 million Spotify streams between the three singles “Into Something”, “2 Me” and “Stranded”. We first encountered Kiddo last year as a member of Miami’s Cashae collective with their song “Endless Summer”, which we placed in the season finale of […]
