Two Fingers – “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Uncompromising, muscular and powerful, the music of Two Fingers is also full of subtle touches, humor and a supple sense of rhythm. Originally formed in 2009, the project was the creation of Brazilian-born electro-jazz/breaks/jungle trailblazer Amon Tobin and U.K. drum’n’bass artist Doubleclick, together with several guest MCs whose contributions are integral to the project. Now just one of Tobin’s many alter egos, Two Fingers brings a fundamentally new and dynamic direction incorporating visceral elements of dancehall, dubstep, and grime. “To the haters who said I’d gone soft, I give a long hard stare and boldly present Two Fingers. -Amon Tobin “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” is the title track off an unexpectedly defiant and uplifting new album, featuring collaborations with Ivy Lab, Little Snake, and G Jones.

Katie Toupin – “Don’t Wanna Die”

After the massive success of her former band Houndmouth, singer-songwriter Katie Toupin’s solo career is on the rise. As a member of Houndmouth, Katie co-wrote and sang on their hit song “Sedona”, which among others was featured on both “Grey’s Anatomy” and “This Is Us” and has received over 110 million streams on Spotify alone. At two and half years sober, Katie wrote her new single “Don’t Wanna Die” about the last night she went out partying. Deciding to choose living life to the fullest over a miserable pattern of reckless abandonment, this song stands for her choice to party sober from that day forward. The single was engineered and mixed by Jeremy Ferguson, who received a Grammy this year for his work on Cage The Elephant’s album “Social Cues”.

PXTN – “Take It”

Miami-based Pop/R&B artist PXTN describes his new single “Take It” as being inspired by his thoughts about selfishness. “The world needs to be selfless and give more. I’ve learned that the more you give, the more it comes back.” The song opens with sparse instrumentation and vulnerable vocals, quickly building into a massive back end chorus complete with choir vocals and string arrangements. “Take It” was featured in a powerful emotional scene underscoring a troubled father/son relationship in episode 305 of Netflix’s “On My Block”, which premiered its third season on March 11th. PXTN’s single “Take It” is featured in Season 3 of Netflix’s “On My Block” out March 11. About PXTN Paxton Ingram’s career began with the Miami singer successfully competing on season 10 of NBC’s “The Voice”. Ingram gained national recognition for his performance of “Break Every Chain”, which reached #1 on the Billboard Chart and #1 on iTunes. Following a Top 8 finish, the 22-year old self-released his debut EP Recover in the Summer of 2016. Brooklyn-based producer BAILE creates texturally rich electronic music inspired by house music, but with a warm, intimate sound rarely found in the genre. The title track on his new EP entitled Winte puts synths in the foreground with minimal vocal textures and oscillating, grungy bass layered underneath. “Leave Me” featuring Kauf is a breathtaking standout, with a soulful indie folk/electronic hybrid aesthetic reminiscent of Bon Iver. Laveda – “Ghost”

What began as a singer-songwriter bedroom recording project in Albany, NY by Ali Genevich and Jake Brooks has now evolved into a full fledged Dream Pop experience known as Laveda. The first single off their upcoming debut LP What Happens After, out next month on Color Station, is simply entitled “Ghost”. This track opened the door to the heavier indie rock/shoegaze guitar sound that they worked so hard to harness throughout the rest of the record. After a scratchy lo-fi acoustic guitar intro with inaudible vocals, the song explodes with a tsunami of glittering delayed guitars and massive drums. It’s worth the wait.
