Miami-based Pop/R&B artist PXTN describes his new single “Take It” as being inspired by his thoughts about selfishness. “The world needs to be selfless and give more. I’ve learned that the more you give, the more it comes back.” The song opens with sparse instrumentation and vulnerable vocals, quickly building into a massive back end chorus complete with choir vocals and string arrangements. “Take It” was featured in a powerful emotional scene underscoring a troubled father/son relationship in episode 305 of Netflix’s “On My Block”, which premiered its third season on March 11th. This is easily the best montage song in our catalog, so if you’re looking for something with an emotional build that tugs on the heart strings you need to grab this one! PXTN got his start on Season 10 of The Voice, where he placed in the top eight contestants. He’s since evolved into an artist with […]

PXTN’s single “Take It” is featured in Season 3 of Netflix’s “On My Block” out March 11. About PXTN Paxton Ingram’s career began with the Miami singer successfully competing on season 10 of NBC’s “The Voice”. Ingram gained national recognition for his performance of “Break Every Chain”, which reached #1 on the Billboard Chart and #1 on iTunes. Following a Top 8 finish, the 22-year old self-released his debut EP Recover in the Summer of 2016. The Soul/R&B project produced singles “Barricade” and “Hands (Piano Version)”, which charted in the Top 100 on iTunes Pop Charts. Ingram continued with performances across the country, and brand endorsements from the likes of Toyota and Nivea Men. Despite the success, Ingram grew frustrated with the lack of new black singers in the pop genre, and in the fall of 2018, the Florida-native returned into the studio under a new artist name: PXTN. PXTN’s […]

Brooklyn-based producer BAILE creates texturally rich electronic music inspired by house music, but with a warm, intimate sound rarely found in the genre. The title track on his new EP entitled Winte puts synths in the foreground with minimal vocal textures and oscillating, grungy bass layered underneath. “Leave Me” featuring Kauf is a breathtaking standout, with a soulful indie folk/electronic hybrid aesthetic reminiscent of Bon Iver. Deeply involved in the EDM scene, BAILE has collaborated on remixes with heavyweights such as DRAMA, Sasha, Beacon, Tim Green and Baltra. He has received frequent airplay on KCRW, Pete Tong & Danny Howard (BBC Radio 1), has been featured on Spotify playlists such as Viral Top 50, The Wind Down, Electronic Circus and Kopfkino, as well as Late Night Electronic and The A List: New Artists on Apple Music.

What began as a singer-songwriter bedroom recording project in Albany, NY by Ali Genevich and Jake Brooks has now evolved into a full fledged Dream Pop experience known as Laveda. The first single off their upcoming debut LP What Happens After, out next month on Color Station, is simply entitled “Ghost”. This track opened the door to the heavier indie rock/shoegaze guitar sound that they worked so hard to harness throughout the rest of the record. After a scratchy lo-fi acoustic guitar intro with inaudible vocals, the song explodes with a tsunami of glittering delayed guitars and massive drums. It’s worth the wait.

Chris Mann’s upcoming single “Old Fashioned” is a fun, playful pop song that could be described as a modern take on Doo Wop. The lyrical theme is about being tired of all things new, and how sometimes you just need to kick it old school. Mann’s soulful falsetto paired with slick horn lines and a pounding piano riff is a refreshing throwback vibe that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Based in Los Angeles, Chris Mann is no stranger to the spotlight. His debut record “Roads” (Universal/Republic Records) hit #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, and over the past decade he’s performed on The Voice, Glee, Ellen, Conan, The Today Show, The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show. Essentially all of the time of day shows. His studio work has also been featured in Avatar, Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, Letters to Juliet, Tangled, Sex and the […]

In what the band calls their darkest time of life, the third single from the Nashville five-piece Jet Black Alley Cat titled “Rewind” is a somber reflection filled with nostalgia and longing for a lost past. Paying ironic tribute to Johnny Depp’s infamous tattoo (despite him ultimately editing it to “Wino Forever”, which is frankly also not a bad band name), this self-described Indie Jazz Yacht Rock quartet from Montreal is as wonderfully quirky as their namesake. Also aptly named is their album Feelgood, with songs like “Happy Days”, “Joyride” and “Keep Kool” setting a pleasant upbeat tone throughout the record. Their distinctive sound is extremely technical yet very smooth, kind of like Dirty Projectors meets Brian Wilson. If you’re looking for smooth indie rock that plays a bit ironic or comedic, these are your guys. I mean just look at them. You get it.

Artist/Producer Lij Gilmour is best known for blending swirling ambient electronic elements with the traditional writing style of a singer-songwriter. After appearing on The Voice in his native Australia, Lij headlined two sold-out national tours across the country. In the past couple of years he’s amassed millions of streams on Spotify and built himself a global following. Lij Gilmour’s brand new single “burning down” pairs his soft melodic vocals with haunting textures and trap hats. Lij explains, “The song is about the experience of battling with your mind. Feeling guilty for what you think about doing over what you know you should do. A lot of the time, as humans, we are our worst enemy and this song is a depiction of that.”

Above the Arctic Circle during Norway’s season of darkness, a chance encounter between an American and a Norwegian spawned a transatlantic musical partnership called The Familiar. The duo of native New Yorker Ruth Mirsky and Tromsø-born producer Mads Martinsen is the northern lights meeting the skyscrapers of New York. Their sound, hailed as “seductive synthpop” by The Guardian, has evolved over the past few years with two independently released EPs, numerous music videos and syncs including a spot for HP Enterprise, MTV’s “Awkward” and a trailer for the Norwegian series “Unge Lovende”. The Familiar are back with a powerful new single “Everything”, the first release off their forthcoming debut full-length album. The song is a smoldering tribute to northern Norway—a magical place that beckons like a siren, where time seems to freeze in a darkness that never moves. Gloves and a warm hat are recommended before listening.
